DIRECTOR ID - DEADLINE FAST APPROACHING

The deadline to have your director ID is fast approaching. If you are a director of a company, you must have a director ID by 30th November 2022. The ID is a unique identifier which is kept permanently.

WHAT YOU NEED TO DO
The fastest way to get a director ID is to apply online using the myGovID app.
MyGov ID* – your myGovID will need to have a Standard or Strong identity strength to apply for your director ID online. When completing the application, you will need access to the following: 

  • your tax file number (TFN)

  • your residential address as held by the ATO

  • information from two documents to verify your identity (this could be bank account details, ATO notice of assessment, super account details, centrelink payment summary or dividend statement)

Alternatively, you can apply via Phone – if you chose to apply via phone, the following information is required

  • your tax file number (TFN)

  • your residential address as held by the ATO

  • answers to two questions based on details we know about you

  • One primary Australian identity documents ie.  Australian birth certificate, Australian Passport, Australian citizenship certificate or extract from a Register of Citizenship by Descent etc)

  • One secondary Australian identity documents ie.  Medicare card or drivers licence

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT
Once you have your director ID, please forward this to samantha@milaneseco.com.au to add into our Corporate Secretarial software. You should also keep record of your director ID.
 
IMPORTANT
Please note that the ABRS may impose large penalties on directors who have not applied for their DIN within the required timeframe.
